Name: Lestat de Lioncourt Door: Door Pass: Dominant Canon: Interview with the Vampire (TV series) Canon Point: After the Season 1 finale Age: 179 Appearance: Here History: Here CR AU (Optional): N/A Personality: Positive Trait: Passionate Lestat very much enjoys throwing himself fully into the things he loves, be it the hunt for blood or more artistic pleasures. He is a vampire who truly enjoys his undead life and delighting in it to the fullest, always reveling in his favorite things, be they well-played music or fine clothes or sexual exploits. When Lestat loves something, he loves it intensely. He will sing its praises and be fiercely protective of it, whether it be a person or a concept, such as music. Lestat is constantly telling his companion, Louis, that he loves him and would do anything for him, and can barely keep his hands off of him. In the same vein, he will wax poetic about music and its beauty, or the intricacy of chess, eager to enjoy and share all of the things he finds enjoyable. Negative Trait: Violent Violence is part and parcel with being a vampire, but Lestat embraces it beyond mere feeding. He enjoys toying with the people he kills, from simply chasing them to psychologically breaking them down for hours before draining them. Even when called out for his cruelty towards his victims, he sums up his reasoning as: "I like to do it. I enjoy it." His violence isn't reserved solely for human beings or the hunt. His temper can be monstrous, even with the people he loves, and he has physically hurt the people he cares for -- grabbing his daughter Claudia by the neck, for example, and dropping Louis from the air hard enough to break bone. It's all but stated that he inherited his abusive side from his father, and while he seems to know enough to see that it's wrong, it doesn't stop him from lashing out viciously when he's furious enough. Negative Trait: Controlling Lestat is very bad at giving other people free reign. When he tells Louis he wants to be polyamorous, he regrets it immediately and stalks Louis when he meets up with another lover. When Claudia tries to leave their family for a second time, he hops onto the same train as her and immediately hauls her back home. When he realizes Louis and Claudia are plotting behind his back, he has his lover follow them so that she can report back anything she learns. On the flip side of the coin, he refuses to be told what to do, partially out of pettiness, earning him the nickname 'The Brat Prince'. Repeatedly, he's asked to end his relationship with his female lover and refuses to do so because he hates being commanded to stop doing something he likes -- to the point of persuading her to cut off her finger so that he could use it as evidence she was dead and continue the affair on the sly. Negative Trait: Vain The man enjoys looking good and wearing fine clothes. He has the money to indulge in the latest fashions and enjoys playing the part of the peacock, strutting around in extravagant styles. This reaches its peak when he bribes his way onto a Mardi Gras float where he wears full Baroque drag to get crowned king of the parade. On top of that, he greatly enjoys flattery and takes great offense at any slights, to the point of killing the mayor of New Orleans for an offhanded comment at his expense. He enjoys bragging about his accomplishments (i.e. chess matches he's won) and gets very irritated if anyone questions them (i.e. being called out for not reading through all the books he says he's read). Powers and Abilities: As a vampire, Lestat inherently has the following abilities: 1) Immortality (outside of a few specific causes of death) 2) Unaging form 3) Greater strength than a human 4) Greater speed than a human 5) Ability to read minds & communicate telepathically (except with his fledglings) Some powers that are specific to Lestat (and not all vampires) are: 1) "the cloud gift" (flying) 2) stopping time within a specific space 3) some level of mind control (with difficulty) Inventory: 1) A music box playing "For a Young Violinist" 2) A chess set 3) A gramophone Samples: 1) First Sample 2) Second Sample |
